Islamabad (City Reporter): The National Press Club (NPC), Islamabad, and Fatima Al-Zahra Medical Centre have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide quality healthcare services to journalists and their families at discounted rates.

The MoU was signed by NPC President Abdul Razaq Sayal and President of Markazi Muslim League, Inam-ur-Rehman Kamboh.

Under the agreement, NPC members and staff will receive special discounts on OPD and specialist consultation fees, 40% discount on laboratory tests, 10% on X-ray services, and 20% on dental treatment. In addition, medical services including normal deliveries, C-sections, and other healthcare facilities will be offered at highly subsidised rates.

The signing ceremony was attended by Markazi Muslim League Vice President Shaukat Salfi, Deputy General Secretary Abdullah Toor, Islamabad Spokesperson Sardar Saleem Ilyas, Dr. Shakeel, and Dr. Muneeb, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Inam-ur-Rehman Kamboh said that his party is working in the health sector with a commitment to serving humanity. He stated that Fatima Al-Zahra Medical Centre is providing quality healthcare services to the general public at affordable costs, while NPC members and their families will now benefit from exclusive medical discounts under the newly signed agreement.

He said that the medical centre follows a policy of maintaining high treatment standards without compromise. All doctors are employed on salaries, ensuring that patients are not advised unnecessary tests or medications. He added that the institution has so far provided medical treatment to more than 100,000 patients and plans to establish additional medical centres in different areas of Islamabad in the future.

Kamboh further announced that both organisations also plan to jointly launch a permanent medical desk at the National Press Club, free medical camps, and other welfare initiatives to further facilitate journalists and their families.

NPC President Abdul Razaq Sayal said that the welfare of journalists remains the club’s top priority. He added that the Press Club is expanding partnerships with various organisations to provide better facilities for its members. Appreciating the modern healthcare services and affordable treatment offered by Fatima Al-Zahra Medical Centre, he said the agreement would directly benefit the journalist community.

Addressing the ceremony, NPC Secretary Dr. Furqan Rao said that the Press Club continues to collaborate with different institutions for the welfare of journalists. He noted that an earlier agreement with City Lab has already been benefiting journalists, while the new partnership with Fatima Al-Zahra Medical Centre will further expand healthcare facilities and exclusive discounts for NPC members.

Markazi Muslim League General Secretary Yasir Arafat also addressed the ceremony.
