ISLAMABAD: Head of the “Apna Kamao” Programme of the IT Wing of Pakistan Markazi Muslim League and Master Trainer Malik Waqas Saeed has said that equipping young people with modern digital skills can enable them to secure dignified employment and improve their economic future.
He expressed these views while addressing the concluding session of a month-long social media training workshop organised for members of the National Press Club Islamabad to enhance their professional skills.
Malik Waqas Saeed said that the next phase of the programme could include the formation of field-specific groups, followed by practical training sessions and specialised workshops to help participants develop expertise in their chosen areas. He proposed launching an intensive post-course training programme to further strengthen participants’ practical skills and enable them to start earning online at the earliest.
He said the recently concluded course was designed to introduce participants to the digital economy, adding that each participant should now identify the specific field in which they wish to specialise. He noted that while participants had developed a sound theoretical understanding, many still required further practical training in website development, digital marketing, freelancing and other emerging digital fields.
He assured participants that consultations regarding additional training activities would be held within the next one to two weeks. He also announced that deserving participants could be allocated a special quota in various three-month IT courses, allowing them to receive advanced training at reduced or no cost.
Despite limited resources, he said every effort would be made to provide training opportunities to the maximum number of young people. He added that participants would be informed about various IT courses, future training programmes and upcoming initiatives through the Q Tech platform.
Malik Waqas Saeed emphasised that before recommending any participant for internships or practical placements, it was essential to evaluate their skills, projects and practical performance so that they could receive guidance and opportunities according to their capabilities.
