Bashir Chaudhary
Vice President of the National Press Club, Bashir Chaudhary, is an award-winning multimedia journalist with more than two decades of experience in Pakistan’s electronic and digital media landscape. Throughout his career, he has built a strong reputation for accurate, ethical, and evidence-based journalism, reporting on national politics, governance, judiciary, public policy, economy, immigration, foreign affairs, national security, and parliamentary affairs. Having worked with leading news organisations including Urdu News, 24 News, Dunya News, CNBC Pakistan, Waqt News, Royal News, and SANA News, he has covered many of Pakistan’s defining political and constitutional events, including the Lawyers’ Movement, the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, the 18th Constitutional Amendment, the Memogate scandal, the Panama Papers case, multiple general elections, the APS tragedy, the 2014 sit-in, and the 2024 General Elections. His expertise extends across investigative reporting, live broadcasting, multimedia storytelling, mobile journalism, critical interviewing, and the effective use of AI-powered tools in modern journalism.
Beyond newsroom reporting, Bashir has made significant contributions to journalism education and professional development. He has delivered lectures and training workshops at prestigious institutions including Quaid-i-Azam University, Bahria University, the National Defence University, and the International Islamic University, sharing his expertise on media ethics, reporting principles, and journalism practices. He has also served as a jury member for media competitions and mentored aspiring civil servants. Internationally, he represented Pakistan through official media visits to Japan and Afghanistan, producing reports on socio-economic, diplomatic, and regional affairs. A graduate of the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) with a Master’s degree in Mass Communication, he is the recipient of the prestigious Agahi Award 2021, along with multiple organisational awards and appreciation certificates for breaking news and exclusive investigative reporting.
